Piano Tuning Costs
Piano tuning cost depends mainly on the area in Auckland where the piano is located. We charge $190 in the Auckland city and North Shore area. There may be additional travel expenses applied for certain out-lying suburbs.
If your piano has not been tuned for a long time and has dropped flat, or if you need your piano tuned at concert pitch (440Hz), our piano technicians will require a quick pre-tuning session which takes 30 minutes and costs $70 extra.
The cost of tuning an upright or a grand piano is the same.

Piano Repair Costs
Pianos have thousands of different parts in the action, the keys, and the sounding body. Over time and with constant playing especially the mechanism wears down as there are lots of friction points in leather, felt and wood. There are different problems in different pianos depending on factors like usage in the past, position and general quality of the piano.
At Piano Corner, our technicians recognise that each piano is completely different and therefore each repair is unique to that piano. On account of this, it is not possible to provide a standard price for a piano repair.
We inspect the piano thoroughly in order to see what is broken, worn out, or just dirty, and determine what really needs to be repaired or replaced.
We will encourage you to get your piano repaired if:
- we feel that the level of service is a good investment for your piano as it will enhance the musical value of your instrument, or
- if your piano’s original construction quality is high enough to justify the level of service.
